So I think I might have mentioned somewhere (like somewhere around *here*) that I think we have multiple ghosts in the house. One of them made an appearance last night. There is no question who this one is....
Here....let me introduce you to him....
Everyone...this is one of my babies. His name is Foster. Unfortunately we had to put him to sleep May 20, 2009, after he got seriously ill with diabetes. He was diagnosed and within 2 weeks he had to put him down. Every once in a while he makes an appearance around the house.
Last night I had come out to the living room to give DH a kiss goodnight, the lights were out in the living room, the light in our bedroom was on, and all other cats were accounted for. In fact, when I first saw him walk across the room, I thought it was actually one of the other cats, but he was already passed out on the bed in the bedroom.
Nothing exciting he was just walking across the floor like I've seen him do hundreds of times when he was alive. He's been around a lot though since he crossed...
Generally it's just seeing him out of the corner of my eye, but I've also caught him sitting in his favorite window watching the goings on outside just like he did when he was alive.
Also, I wash laundry every Sunday, and he always used to help me with it. Anytime I got up to go change the laundry around he always came in with me. One day a couple of weeks ago I was in there doing what needs to be done in order to keep the laundry moving and I saw him again, and without thinking started talking to him. =) Talk about habit! =) Probably a good thing that DH wasn't in the house at the time. =)
Weird....as I am sitting here typing I am smelling something...almost like fresh cut flowers, but more specifically a certain kind of flower that I can't put my finger on. Dang it - now this is going to drive me nuts! *sigh* If I have a sudden revelation I'll make another post.
Anywho...that was the latest experience! Short and sweet...just like my Foster baby =)

How cool that your Foster is still at home! I've had many experiences and only one that involved an animal that had crossed. I wonder when you figure out you're seeing a pet that's crossed if you heart doesn't race just a little...not as in being scared...but in the possibility that he's still on this side? I know, if that were me...at least my heart would want it.
Cheers, Jenn
Love between a pet and its caretaker can be as strong as any. Such powerful bonds seeminly don't just disappear after the body dies, person or animal. Foster was lucky to have enjoyed such a happy life with you. Sadly, many cats don't get the same experience. You should be proud! :)
...kinda nice to be 'open' enough to have these visits... :) laura
Jenn - when he first died and I had the first couple of experiences the heart did race a little because I missed him so much. Now, while I still miss him terribly, that denial part of my brain has taken a break and I get more of the warm, glowy feeling knowing that he's still with us. =)
ZJ - I absolutely agree! All of our furry loves are getting to the eldery age and I'm afraid that before I know it they are going to be gone. It was one of those things that hit home when our only girl cat was diagnosed recently with the beginning stages of kidney failure. So now I try to be mindful of the time that we have left together... =)
Laura - it's nice to know he's still here, and once in a while he will jump in bed with me and fall asleep on the pillow that he used to lay on when he was physically here. I hope that as I grow he, and the other ghosts, will be more than just a shadow out of the corner of my eye =) Time will tell! =)
I wish my cats were still around! lol I miss them Of course, we've had at least sixty cats over the fifteen years I've been at the house, but I miss my Mr.Peach, and Mommy, and I know that my dog Sunny misses Reject (yes, that IS her name, and she's a rouge kitty ♥). We have a new dog who killed my last kitten while I watched, becuase my mom couldn't stop it. She LOVES that dog and I miss my cats cuz they ran away.
Only one cat left. His name's Tony, and he's very homely. But I love him, even when he drools : ) sadly, I just heard that stupid dog chased him under the car like he did the kitten. Tony got away, but I really just want all my cats back. You're lucky to see your Foster. ♥ <:)
Hello Miss Patty, and thank you for visiting my blog! =)
Yes, I am very lucky to still see my Foster, he was a very sweet and special boy and we were very lucky to have him with us while we did!
